Barrett grew up in the midwest and went to college at the St. Louis University where she graduated with Psychology and Art degrees in 2000. Immediately after graduating, she moved to Ireland for a year to work and it was here that she was first introduced to massage as a therapeutic modality. A friend and employer was receiving massage to help cope with Parkinson’s disease and it was the exposure to that experience that ultimately sent her back to school. After a bit more travel and a lot of research, she began her studies at the Desert Institute of the Healing Arts in Tucson, Arizona. The program she chose gave her an internship at Canyon Ranch, hands-on training with athletes at the University of Arizona Training Center, and experience with pre and post surgical care at Tucson Medical Center.
Barrett graduated from the Desert Institute at the end of 2002 and moved to Chicago in March of 2003. She has been with Urban Oasis since August of 2003 and specializes in Therapeutic Massage including Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Massage, Sports Massage, Oncology and Pre and Post Natal Massage. Barrett combines modalities to offer a focused and therapeutic massage to help clients manage pain, recover from injuries and to deeply relax.
Barrett is a huge fan of cooking and Clean Eating, outdoors, live music, and enjoys time spent with family.
