Jo (they/them) has been doing professional massage therapy since 2006, but learned from their mom the importance of massage therapy at the age of 5, when they were recruited to massage mom’s legs during a particularly challenging pregnancy. Jo is trained in Prenatal, TMJ, Deep Tissue, Swedish, Myofascial Release, Sports, and Trigger Point Therapy. They incorporate the different modalities as it fits into each client’s unique needs. To them, the four most important aspects of self-care that anyone can do at home are: deep breathing (oxygen is thankfully still mostly free!), consistent and restful sleep with bolsters, slow and intentional stretching, and getting enough hydration. If you add in regular hot soaks with Epsom salt and CBD bath bombs, then you have the golden formula. Getting clients back into a more balanced and attuned daily practice of listening to their bodies’ cues is their number one goal with every session.
