How I found bodywork is through my father. I was 14, helping him through his first stroke. During this stressful healing phase, I was introduced to massage therapy and experienced its oh so lovely powers of stress and pain relief! The thing I loved about it the most, is the fact that it made me feel happier! It uplifted me in some of my darkest times. When my father’s health got increasing worse with two more strokes and a few slipped discs, he started seeing a Physical Therapist. He said, ” I could really see you doing something like this”. Things started to improve, but, unfortunately, his body could not handle all the damage he had sustained and he sadly passed away.
Shortly after, I went backpacking in Oregon for two months to help with everything from letting go, to finding myself and who I am and what I want to do. After traveling the states, I found The Soma Institute in Chicago. Now ready, I began building my professional passion to help heal. Learning the basics of massage therapy and its healing powers. In 2014 I graduated from The Soma Institute.
I then got the opportunity to travel to southeast Asia, where I first experienced Thai massage therapy.
After my trip to Asia, I came back to the states wanting to work. I found myself performing massage at a mix of places including music-festivals, working on the bands.
The passing of my father gave me a huge passion to help others. It’s a goal of mine to find out each client’s needs to help them find the deep relaxation they didn’t know was there. Through massage therapy, I listen and respond to the very best of my ability. I am very grateful to now be part of the Urban Oasis family. It feels like home.
